Big Toe Pain At Night

Morton’s Neurome

In the medical field, an neurome typicall refers to the benign tumor of a nerve. However, Mortn’s Neurome is not actually a tumor. What happens is the tissue surronding the nerves in your toes becomes thickened. It typically occurs when the bones of the third and fourth toe are pinch together compressing the nerve.

The nerve becomes large and inflamed causing pain and burning in the foot.


Sesamoiditis is most likely the cause of your big toe pain at night. It occurs when the tendons around the small, round bones that are embedded in the head of the first metatarsal bone (which leads to the big toe) become inflamed.


Gout is a form of inflammatory arthritis. it develops when a person has high levels of urin acid in the blodd stream and the urin acid has been deposited as needle like crystals in parts of the body, typically feet and toes. Gout attacks come and go and often occur at night.
